I hope all of you are having a fantastic summer! I announced in the spring that we would be having officer training on Saturday, August 6 and that I would send more information in the summer. Well, here is that information!

I'm going to do things a little bit differently this year. SAI, as you know, is hosting the first ever National Leadership Conference in Tucson, AZ at the end of July. I will be attending it along with Jennifer Heatherington, a collegiate member from Theta Delta (UA). What I hope to do is to bring back the wealth of knowledge, that I'm sure we'll gain in Tucson, to you!

Of course this event is open to ALL members of SAI in Rho B Province. Although, I must insist that each of our five chapters has at least one representative in attendance. This representative does not have to be an officer. She will be crucial in bringing information directly from National Headquarters to your chapter. I will also be deciding on Official Visit Dates for your chapters on this day. So, send your priority dates along with your chapter representative.

PRESIDENTS: I am making it your responsibility to determine who your chapter representative will be and will hold you accountable for their presence. Please, inform me of your choice asap.

If you plan on attending please RSVP by August 3. I would like to provide lunch for you so I'll need to know your menu preference for planning purposes.
Roses,
Alexis

p.s. Please, excuse the multiple emails if you received more than one.

Hello All,
School will be starting pretty soon... so it's about time we start planning some things we can do this year. Hopefully, we will be doing a lot more not only for ourselves as a chapter, but for our Music Department, UAB, or Fraternity, and our community. I wish for SAI to be know for more than their great Music capabilities and Musicianship. We have a lot more to offer to all who see us and know of us than our Music.
Let's show the world what an SAI can REALLY do!

INTRODUCING YOUR NEW ONLINE NEWSLETTER

Welcome to the first online newsletter for the Kappa Chi Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity for Women. I know I was suppose to have this done 2 YEARS AGO!!! I guess I prove to be a bigger procrastinator than I thought. Well, this should help to solve that problem.

Inspired by the UAB Concert and gospel Choir Blogs (Thanks Dr. C and Bishop Turner ;) , I figured this was a better way to keep everyone informed on what happens within the Frat, events of our chapter, our school, other chapters here and there, announcements, and so on. Hopefully, it will serve this purpose. I spend more time on a computer anyway, so I would be more likely to post something than to print something out and hand it out.

So now that you know, I ask of you the following things:
1) if you need something announced, Let me know ASAP!!!! I can't perform miracles withthis thing. If you have something happening and it is more than 3 days away, tell me. But if it happening in 10 minuets, just don't bother.

2) Understand that when I know about something, and I feel it is relevant for everyone to know, I will tell you. You are all Family to me, and I would not hide anything from family or neglet to tell you anything (unless I am asked to.)

3) Feel free to comment on anything that gets posted here.. or even suggest a post if you want.

Well, that's all I have to say. I hope this year will be a whole heck of a lot better than the past 2 have been. I hope we pull together more and do what it is we do best.

Love and Roses
