This is an Email I got from a sister about Magic City Classic week/weekend.

Hey frat,

My name is Tasha. I'm originally from the Theta Zeta chapter of SAI at AAMU. I now work for ASU amd am very close to both groups of ladies. As you know, this weekend (October 27-30) is Magic City Classic weekend. Both schools will be there in full force. The ladies at A&M want to get together if possible with you all and the ones here at ASU. Let me now if you know of anyone that has anything planned (frat wise) in Birmingham. Also, I am supposed to be staying with a girl from A&M, but there is a sister here at ASU that needs a place to stay as well. If you now of any available couches or floor space please let me know. Wherever she stays I want to try to stay as well so she will be with at least one person she knows, especially if we ride together. i have asked the sister I am staying with, but she hasn't responded. So, please let me know if you know of any availabilities or gatherings. You can either email me here or at njenkins@alasu.edu or call me at (314)779-4074.

LISAI,
Natasha

Now, your humble Moderator will not be here that weekend... but I hoping that those who are here will get together and meet with your other sisters from A&M and ASU.

Thanks Everyone!!!

Thanks to all the l;adies that came out and supported the UAB Concert Choir, Women's Chorale, and Chamber Singers Last night. Seeing you all there mde my heart smile in ways you would not imagine. If you missed it, you missed an AMAZING display of Musical talent.

Ladies, I want to encourage you to not only look at these groups as performers, but also as potential recruits. A lot of the women you saw were freshmen, and it is the freshmen that you most likely will see the most eager to join if you pitch it right. When rush time comes, they will definately want to know more about the group.. AND ERIN AND I WILL GET MANY MANY QUESTIONS!!!

Once again Thank You all for coming out , and thank you for the beautiful rose!!!... We all appreciate it.
Who ever took the picture at the end of the concert, please send me a copy so I can post it on here for all to see.:)

And now, a word from our Advisor, Bishop K.P. Turner

Greetings fellow colleagues, students and frat associates!
As many of you know, the Kappa Chi chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota is now two years old. I am their faculty advisor. Well, so far this year they have raised about $150 and donated it to the American Red Cross towards hurricane relief efforts. They also were winners of the recent Phi Beta Sigma Talent Expo on Sept 16 (Marquita Anthony won first place, and an ensemble from the SAI won 2nd place). On July 26 - August 1 the nation-wide Millie Lewis Actors, Models, and Talent Competition was held, of which SAI member Lorenda Warren won in several categories amongst 2,000 other competitors. Lorenda was in the top ten in the situation comedy category; was 3rd place in the female photography competition and 2nd place winner of the singer/songwriting division held in Orlando, Florida.

This past weekend (Sept. 24), at my request, the SAI Province Officer came and gave the new chapter officers an all-day orientation session and officially installed the new officers. Their musicale, which was performed in our Recital Hall, included:

"My Pledge" Schmidt (Gamma Chapter)
"Butterfly" Edvard Grieg
"Adoni Roi" Cohen
"All that jazz" Jazz/dance illustrated showpiece
"Summer Time" Gershwin
"Sigma Alpha Iota Chorale" SAI songbook

They are off to a wonderful start and I just wanted to share this information with you. I am hoping that the former chapter administration will come and share their knowledge, time, talent and treasure, as well as return much-needed items from their tenure and I wish this year's members much success in all that they do
